“Hello ”
It's been a while since I blogged... got kind of busy before the holiday. About two weeks ago I attended the Spinning® Orientation, which was on Saturday here at Mad Dogg. I was kind of afraid to take it, thinking it would be really hard, and it was hard but lots of fun at the same time. I definitely don't regret taking it. Now, I'm reading the Instructor Manual and want to pass the Assessment Test.
During the past two weeks, I had been good about exercising 5 days/week, drinking lots of water, not eating sweets and hydrogenated fats. However, the fours days of Thanksgiving were the hardest days because I didn't exercise, didn't drink enough water, and eat sweets. This is the last week of the 8-week weight loss program and I need to dedicate myself 100%.

“THE HOLIDAY ”
This weekend should be fun. Eating turkey and watching football all day! BUT since I am doing the 8 week weight loss program I am going to do my best NOT to sit at home all day and NOT Stuff myself either. Tuff task ahead...

“Wow almost over... ”
It's week 7 and I'm 5lbs slimmer ☺
Of course I could have lost more had I followed the program correctly ☹... But hey I'm human and we all cheat here and there...But what I can say is that it really hasn't been hard. My first couple of Spinning classes seemed SUPER hard and now I'm addicted!! I look forward to going to class, as where before I would make excuses not to make it. ☺ I confess I was bad to the bone... Anyhow, since it's thanksgiving week I will say I am VERY thankful for being a part of this 8week weight loss program. It really has changed me... I do more activities. I go bike riding with my daughter after work 3 times a week if not more... She loves it and so do I. We both get a work out and spend quality time together. What more could I ask for. ☺ Anyway, have a great Thanksgiving and don't eat too much ☺ Remember small portions is the key...

“Exercise High ”
Yesterday I was down in the dumps. I'm not sure what it was—my boyfriend calls it being in a rut. Since we didn't have Spinning class I decided to go to this "Shadow Box" class at 24 Hour Fitness.
Now, I always say that I like to "be punished" during a workout, but oh my god this class kicked my butt so hard I couldn't even tell you the definition of "punished." I actually almost threw up a little bit as I was walking to my car. I don't think that's good for you, but it sure verified the fact that I worked hard.
I mean the class consisted of boxing routines (think "punch, jab, undercut, punchjabundercut"), step moves, abs, and even jump-roping and lots of jumps and ups and downs.
Anyway, the point is that I felt enormously better after exercising (even if it almost made me throw up). To get your heart pumping gets your endorphins going, including the happy hormones your body needs to feel good. It's a natural exercise high.
While a lot of weight loss has to do with nutrition, the second half is exercise. Not only will it help you in your goals but it will make you feel happy! Sweat + fun = happy.

“Week 7 Already? ”
The past six weeks have really flown by. I can't believe we're almost done with the program!
It's holiday time--quite possibly the most difficult time to stick to the rules. Next month, I'll be spending 10 days in Port Huron, Michigan with my family to celebrate Christmas, my step dad's birthday, my baby brother's 16th birthday and my mom's birthday. (That's right, I'm the only one in my family without a December birthday--which means wayyyyy too much birthday cake.)
I got most of my bad food and exercise habits from home, so it's going to be tough to stay on track. I guess I'll just have to teach them the rules.☺
P.S. I'm six weeks Diet Coke sober!

“Thanksgiving... ”
As the holidays are approaching, I am being consistent with watching what I eat and taking walks instead of using my car. I am also finding that when I eat, I am staying full longer. Due to drinking a lot of water during the day and waiting a few minutes so my body will let me know when I am full. I am going to enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner and only eat desserts in moderation.
Happy Thanksgiving!
